Dialysis

The Avenues B – Braun dialysis center is located at one of the Avenues Clinic sister hospitals, St. Clements Clinic.
This unit is the only one in the country that is equipped with 14 state-of-the-art dialog German manufactured machines that feature a lot of functions to help detect and prevent complications very early on.
The dialysis center offers treatment to patients with renal failure who need haemodialysis which is the most common method used to treat chronic kidney failure.
This type of dialysis is usually performed at a dialysis center under the skilled supervision of experienced and well trained staff.
The competent staff includes a nephrologist, matron, renal unit manager, renal nurses, clerk, nurse aides, diet aides, housekeepers and a gardener. This team of hard working, professional and friendly staff is there to make the dialysis process as comfortable as possible.

The eight reclining leather couches are designed to maximize comfort and make patients feel at home. Complementing each couch is a plasma television set that is connected to DSTV so that one may watch one’s favorite show while being dialyzed.
Service at the unit is 24 hours, meaning should it be necessary, a patient can get dialysis treatment during the night and a big well maintained generator is always on standby in case of power failure. There is also a functioning borehole to ensure an adequate and steady supply of clean water.
The meals on offer are not only tasty but are prepared to suit the dietary requirements of renal patients.
Stringent infection control measures are observed at all times resulting in a very clean and safe environment for treatment.
Because of the close proximity of the medical laboratory and radiology centers, the renal unit staff can take samples and send for results while you wait. The beautiful well tended garden is an ideal place for visitors and relatives to wait while a patient is being dialyzed, and for peace of mind, there is tight security to look after vehicles while patients are being attended to.
